Berlin based label, BRACHMANN creates playful minimalist fashion collections inspired by architecture for women and men. With a handwriting particularly educated by the Bauhaus principles of design, the label deconstructs and reinvents luxury essentials of womens- and menswear, redefining the notions of chic & elegance. In its collections the label explores the tension between oppulence and purism and focuses on clever details, hybrids, and silhouettes in order to establish a unique post-classical signature that is subtly avant-garde, yet timeless. With high attention to detail and craftsmanship, all garments are made from high quality natural fabrics that are exclusively sourced and sustainably manufactured in the EU. BRACHMANN offers well balanced fashion collections for the contemporary wearer who seeks to express her or his own creative personality by individually reinterpreted classics.

BRACHMANN debuted in January 2014 during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin with the A/W 2014/15 collection, dubbed “triumphant” by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD). While fashion press celebrating BRACHMANN as “THE ONE TO WATCH label from Germany” (KALTBLUT Magazine S/S 2015), the Fashion Council Germany nominated the label for the International Woolmark Prize in 2016. Since then, BRACHMANN shows its collections at both Berlin and Paris Fashion Week.

Collection concept

Classic menswear as well as womenswear pieces with their concise characteristics together with design principles from architecture are deeply rooted in our collections. BRACHMANN disassembles seasoned garments to their foundations and recombines the such won modules freely into reconstructed designs. Rethinking classics by an architectural perspective results in a newness focused on hybrids, details, silhouettes, proportions and the 3‑Dimensionality of the human body. The high-quality fabrics woven in Europe and made from natural fibres are exquisite and comfortable to wear. Each season, we look for inspiration in modern art and pop culture — be it a colour mood we spot in a film or painting, a melody that lingers in our ears and synaesthetically triggers associations, an artist’s conception that strikes us as unique. Our collections of playful minimalism are highly wearable and versatile, our outfits allow for a seamless transition from day to night, our garments communicate with each other within each collections as well as across seasons. In this way, we enable each person to collect our pieces as though they would be a piece of art and thus to build a wardrobe of timeless avantgarde over time.

Spearheaded by architect and fashion designer, Jennifer Brachmann, the BRACHMANN team is driven by the desire to demonstrate the endless potential of classics to pave the way to true aesthetic innovation.

What others say about BRACHMANN

“Berlin-based designer Jennifer Brachmann originally studied architecture, followed by a degree in fashion design immediately afterward, which essentially confers on her a PhD in Bauhaus. Her eponymous label Brachmann has the movement’s modus operandi at its very core, merging her architectural background with her keen knowledge of tailoring to create timeless, streamlined, chic and sustainable garments. They are understatedly elegant and her architectural background shines through. Starting with designing menswear, Brachmann took staples of the male wardrobe and deconstructed them with an architectural flourish. Since 2018, she’s been doing the same with womenswear, creating playfully minimalist pieces with plenty of attention to detail that would fit into just about anyone’s wardrobe. Although it’s a hundred years later, it’s refreshing to see the women of the Bauhaus finally having their moment.”
